Account Security (2FA)
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Mify account. In addition to your password, you will need to provide a unique code to log in, ensuring that only you can access your data.
Enable 2FA
Follow these steps to secure your account:
- Go to your Profile (click on your avatar).
- Select the 'Security' tab.
- Click on 'Enable two-factor authentication'.
- Choose your preferred method and follow the on-screen instructions.
Available Methods
Authenticator App
Use apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator to generate codes offline.
Email Code
Receive a unique verification code on your registered email address at each login attempt.
Backup Codes
When enabling 2FA, Mify generates a list of single-use backup codes. It is CRITICAL to keep them in a safe place.
These codes will allow you to access your account if you lose access to your phone or your email inbox.
