Seating plans — Baptism invitation

Prerequisites

Configuring the seating plans requires that you have first created an event. Make sure you have completed the baptism creation step to access this tool.

Importing guests

A baptism gathers mostly family: the parents, the godfather and godmother, the grandparents and often young children. Start by generating the guest list, which appears in the right sidebar. You have two options:

Option 1: CSV UploadImport a CSV file prepared in advance. This is the quickest route when the list comes from a family address book: a 'Last name' column and a 'First name' column, or a single 'Full name' column.

Option 2: Mify SyncIf you already used the 'Guest management' section, the families who confirmed through RSVP are pulled into the sidebar automatically. Handy when replies trickle in over the weeks before the ceremony.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The two methods exclude each other. If you import a CSV (Option 1), the list becomes fixed and the interactive 'Guest management' feature (Option 2) can no longer be used for this baptism.

Designing tables

Once the list is loaded, lay out the tables in the main area. A baptism often starts from one large family table around the parents and the godparents, with satellite tables for relatives. You can:

Choose the shape of each table: round ones help conversation flow between generations.
Set the exact number of seats, keeping the end places free for high chairs.

As you seat your guests, a counter shows in real time how many people are left to place. Drag and drop names from the sidebar, and consider grouping families with children near an exit so they can slip out during the ceremony.

Preview Demo

When the plan is finished, the 'Preview Demo' button shows exactly what your guests will see. Take the chance to check the spelling of the godparents' names — it is the first thing families look for.
